What is a 26-30 Railcard?

Often called ‘The Millennial Railcard’ or the ‘under-30 Railcard,’ a 26-30 Railcard is a discount card that makes train travel cheaper for anyone aged 26-30 with 1/3 off Standard Anytime, Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak Single and Return tickets, as well as Standard and First Class Advance tickets throughout Britain. You can also link your 26-30 Railcard with an Oyster Card to get 1/3 off Off-Peak travel around London.

How much is a 26-30 Railcard?

The 26-30 Railcard will only cost you £30 a year, but that pretty much pays itself off once you use it on a few train journeys.

Anyone aged 26-30 can use a 26-30 Railcard.

When can I use a 26-30 Railcard?

A 26-30 Railcard can be used at any time for Peak and Off-Peak travel. For journeys made between 04:30 and 10:00 Monday to Friday, a minimum fare of £12 is payable. There is no minimum fare when you travel at weekends, on Public Holidays, or during July and August. No, the 26-30 Railcard is only available for 1-year periods.

No, the 26-30 Railcard is not valid on Season Tickets. If you often travel by train during Peak hours and your usual journey is under £12 it may be worth using our Season Ticket Calculator to see whether you could make better savings that way. Although, if you still make plenty of leisure journeys by train as well then why not have both?

Yes. Although your Railcard will live in your Trainline App, it can still be used with tickets bought elsewhere.

You can buy the digital 26-30 Railcard online with Trainline. The Railcard will be stored in your Trainline app, meaning your tickets and Railcards are all in one place. 

Yes, to buy a 26-30 Railcard you must provide a photograph to upload or send off as part of your application.

26-30 Railcards bought through Trainline will only work on iPhones using iOS 13 and above. As such, some older iPhone models running iOS versions below iOS 13 may not be able to support Railcards. Make sure you check which software version your iPhone is running before purchasing a Railcard.
