There are no direct trains from Edinburgh to Norwich, but you can make the journey with only one change if you stop at Peterborough. The trains you will typically take on this route will be London North Eastern Railway (LNER), Avanti West Coast (formerly Virgin Trains) and CrossCountry trains.
All London North Eastern Railway (LNER) trains feature a buffet car called The Foodbar, usually located either in coach J or H. Here, you can purchase hot and cold food and drink throughout the day. On most journeys, you'll also find a full drinks menu and an at-seat trolley service. If you travel in First Class, the food and drink are complimentary but subject to availability. Visit our CrossCountry page for more information about the onboard services you can get for the second part of the journey.
Your first train from Edinburgh to Peterborough takes you to Cambridgeshire, passing through Newcastle and Durham before reaching York, where you may be able to spot the spiritual home of the train – the National Railway Museum.
After changing at Peterborough, you’ll head on to Norfolk, passing the city of Ely, before finally reaching Norwich in the north of the county.
