Glasgow Central to Manchester Piccadilly
One of the most important routes on the TransPennine Express is the Glasgow Central to Manchester Piccadilly service. Connecting commuters between these two major cities, the route is one of the busiest and most crucial on the train network. Taking just over 3 hours, the train stops at towns such as Wigan, Preston, and Carlisle, giving passengers in that area a much easier route to the cities, cutting out the traffic of driving in. First class on TransPennine Express trains are available on all services, so an upgrade on this particular route would be beneficial for passengers moving between the cities, or those looking for a treat as they start a weekend away.
There are plenty of things to do in Manchester, it just depends on what you’re after! You can catch a Premier League game at Manchester United or Manchester City, seeing some of the world’s best footballers. You can hit the shops at the Trafford Centre, getting some retail therapy in one of the UK’s top shopping districts. If you’re travelling to Glasgow, then be sure to check out the Glasgow Botanic Gardens during the Summer time. A beautiful and quiet place for the whole family to relax, it is a great way to get away from the busy work life. Furthermore, you can explore the city with an open-top bus tour, taking in all the history and culture in one non-stop ride.
