South Western Railway, formally known as South West Trains, is one of the primary commuter trains that operate from London Waterloo, serving stations such as Southampton Central, Portsmouth Harbour and Exeter St David’s. Peak trains from Southampton Central to London Waterloo run 4 times an hour, with direct services also from Portsmouth and Reading during these times. South Western Railway also provide train and ferry services to the Isle of Wight, making across-sea travel easy and hassle-free.

South Western Railway uses London Waterloo as their main London terminal, providing passengers in the south west region routes in and out of the capital for both work and leisure. London Waterloo train routes include suburban stops at Woking and Guildford. Further beyond there, South Western provide key links to the south coast, with Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour as connections to smaller train routes along the coast. For those looking for a trip to Devon and a country getaway, South Western run an hourly service to Exeter St David’s, allowing families to get to the Devon coast before lunchtime. About South Western Railways

South Western Railways took over from South West Trains as the rail networks franchise in August 2017. As part of the new contract, there are proposals to include an increase of daily services between Portsmouth and Southampton Central, major improvements to train stations and to install free WiFi on all trains and stations throughout the rail network.
