The fastest route from Bristol to Aberdeen requires two changes, at Birmingham New Street and Edinburgh Waverley. The first part of the journey from Bristol Temple Meads to Birmingham New Street is on a CrossCountry service. From there you can take an Avanti West Coast train to Edinburgh Waverley, and finally a London North Eastern Railway (LNER) service onwards to Aberdeen.
All Avanti West Coast trains come with a First Class carriage, with complimentary WiFi and hot and cold drinks. There's also an onboard carriage, where you can buy hot and cold food and drinks throughout the day.
There is also a direct train route from Bristol to Aberdeen using CrossCountry. These trains all come with a First Class option. There's an onboard cafe on most trains, if not, then a trolley will provide an at-seat service. Most CrossCountry trains on this route come with a Quiet Coach and there's free WiFi.
The train from Bristol to Aberdeen takes you through the heart of England, crossing the Cotswolds, the Lake District and the Peak District, before heading into the Lowlands of Scotland. Make sure to grab a window seat in order to see these amazing views. It doesn’t stop there though, as one of the best sights is saved for last. The crossing of the Forth Rail Bridge outside Edinburgh offers some spectacular views up and down the estuary for all to see. You’ll then continue to follow the East Coast of Scotland, before arriving at Aberdeen.
