Back on the commute with a Flexi Season Ticket

With the return to work starting again in August, I’ve been mixing up travel times between Peak and Off-Peak to get a sense of what life used to be like. First up I really like the new trains Greater Anglia has introduced over the last 12-18 months. There’s a lot more light, space, and seating to go around so the commute feels more comfortable. The free Wi-Fi is pretty good as well and I’ve not had any problems working on the train or streaming from Spotify.

More recently I’ve picked up a Flexi Season Ticket as I’m heading into work 3 times a week and over the period of 8 fares, I’m saving £31.40 every time which isn’t bad at all! And over the year that should make for a tidy saving and give me greater flexibility on when I’m heading into London.

Whilst I’d not say the view is spectacular but there is something to be said for whisking by the fields between Chelmsford and Shenfield on the way to Liverpool Street – typically dotted with grazing sheep and cows and sunrise over the trees is always stunning.

The other weekend we also headed into London for the Chelsea Flower Show and with a Two Together Railcard we saved £13 already – two more trips to London and we’re quids in!

With the commute back on and more flexibility in leisure travel, it’s great to be back on the trains again.
