Direct trains depart from Edinburgh Waverley Station to London Kings Cross around twice an hour – usually on the hour and at every 30 minutes past – and are operated by London North Eastern Railway (LNER). The journey takes between 4h 30m and 5h, although can take just 4h on the fastest service. In 2019, LNER launched its high-speed Azuma trains service between Edinburgh and London, which uses technology from Japanese bullet trains to make the journey quicker and quieter
LNER trains offer hot and cold drinks and snacks during your journey via a trolley service and an onboard café/bar.
