London Stansted Airport is Britain’s 4th busiest airport, and many passengers take the train to get there. This is a convenient option, which saves money and time.

The airport is located halfway between London city centre and Cambridge. There are convenient trains to get from both cities. This gives easy access from Canterbury, Oxford, Brighton and many other cities and towns in South East England. The Stansted Express train connects the airport to London Liverpool Street station. Trains run every 15 minutes during the day, 7 days a week. Once you get to Stansted Airport train station, it’s only 2 minutes’ walk to the airport terminal.

Getting to London Stansted Airport

Using Trainline, you can purchase cheap train tickets to London Stansted Airport from anywhere in the UK. This means you won’t have to pay for taxis and airport parking, so you’ll have more to spend on your holiday. If you want to find the cheapest fares, then we recommend that you book tickets well in advance of travelling. On top of this, you can use National Railcards to save 1/3 off adult fares and 60% off kids’ fares.

During the day, trains also stop at Tottenham Hale station en route. From Liverpool Street station, you can take the London Underground to travel from other London stations. This allows easy reach from the other train stations in the UK. You can also take direct trains from Cambridge, Norwich or Sheffield to Stansted Airport train station.

Once you get to Stansted Airport train station, London Stansted Airport terminal is only 2 minutes away on foot. You don’t need to take any shuttle bus and you can access the airport using lifts, escalators and ramps. There’s no hotel in the airport itself. However, a Hilton hotel and a Radisson Blu hotel lie within 100m of Stansted Airport train station.

There’s also a duty free straight after security, with a selection of confectionary, alcohol, souvenirs and other items. The check-in area is on the ground floor of Stansted Airport’s single terminal. Screens at the entrance will direct you to your designated check-in desk.
