Trains from Stansted Airport
If you have a flight into London Stansted Airport, the train is often cheaper and can save you time. Located between London city centre and Cambridge, convenient trains run from London Stansted Airport to both cities. From London, you can then take the train to Canterbury, Oxford, Brighton and many other cities and towns in South East England.
The Stansted Express train service runs from London Liverpool Street station to Stansted Airport train station. It runs every 15 minutes during the day, 7 days a week. You can walk from the airport to the train station in 2 minutes.

Getting from London Stansted Airport to London
With Trainline, you can buy cheaper train tickets from London Stansted Airport to stations across the UK. Stansted Airport train station is only 2 minutes away from London Stansted Airport terminal via lifts, escalators and ramps. There’s therefore no need for a shuttle bus. The Stansted Express runs directly from Stansted Airport station to London Liverpool Street station. The journey takes around 45 minutes and trains run 7 days a week. They depart every 15 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes during early mornings and late at night.
Trains run from around 4 a.m. to midnight. During the day, they also stop at Tottenham Hale en route. You can use the London Underground to travel from London Liverpool Street to other London train stations. This allows you to easily reach the other train stations in the UK. You can also take direct trains from Stansted Airport station to Cambridge, Norwich or Sheffield.
If your flight arrives late, you can stay in the nearby Radisson Blu hotel or Hilton hotel. Both are only 100 metres from the train station – perfect if you also have to catch an early train.

Things to do in London
London Liverpool Street is a busy train station and it has plenty of places to eat, drink and shop. You can drink coffee at Costa or Starbucks, grab a bite to eat at Wasabi or stop in for a quick beer or glass of wine at the Wetherspoons pub. The station also has many stores such as Boots and WHSmith, if you need to pick up some things before your journey.
To get to London’s major tourist sites from Liverpool Street station, you can take the London Underground. The Circle Line runs direct to Westminster station. From there you can visit the Big Ben, the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, or have a boat tour down the River Thames. The Tower of London is only an hour’s leisurely walk from Westminster. By crossing the Thames and following the river north then east, you’ll walk past the National Theatre, the Millennium Bridge, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London Bridge and Tower Bridge. The Tower of London is just after that.
