London to Watford in twenty minutes

I took a West Midlands Trains service from London Euston to Watford Junction. The journey was very efficient, taking less than half the time than a London Overground service between the two stations.

I had bought an Anytime Day Single ticket, which allowed me to take any West Midlands Trains service that day. Combined with a 16-25 Railcard it made for a cheap, stress-free journey. I grabbed something to eat from the plaza outside the station entrance before hopping on my train to Watford.

The journey

There was only one class on board and because I was travelling with an Anytime ticket, I didn’t have a seat reservation. I simply searched the carriage until I found a free seat. Because it was such a short journey, I didn’t feel the need to connect to the onboard WiFi, but there is free WiFi on board via the “Loop” entertainment portal.

Arrival at Watford Junction

I arrived on time at Watford. As I was visiting a friend who lives in the area, I jumped on a local bus service from outside the station to complete my journey.
