Coventry to London in just over an hour

I travelled from Coventry station to London Euston on an Avanti West Coast service. The journey took just over an hour, getting me to London in good time to enjoy the rest of my day!

Boarding the train

I had an Advance ticket, meaning I had to catch the train specified on my ticket. I’d stated my seat preferences and made my way to my reserved seat, one of the window-side table seats. This gave me room to use my laptop on the journey – although the non-table seats do have a small fold-up table as well.

The journey

The journey was perfectly pleasant! I was sat in Standard Class and had access to a plug socket as I had a window seat. Plug sockets are located on the window side of seats on Pendolino trains, and all window-side seats on Super Voyager trains. I made use of the free WiFi to get a bit of work done. Avanti West Coast also offer their own free onboard streaming portal, "Avanti Media", if you'd like to while away the journey watching a film. You’ll have to download the Avanti Media App to use it.

Arriving at London Euston

The train arrived a few minutes later than the scheduled arrival time but all told, the journey went by very smoothly! Euston has plenty of TfL connections – including overground and underground lines – so I hopped on a Northern Line service to continue my journey home.
