Trains to Ancaster

Ancaster train station sits on the Nottingham to Skegness line and serves the Lincolnshire village of Ancaster, with four trains in each direction on weekdays and three on Saturdays. No trains stop here on Sundays. The fastest train journey from Ancaster to London King’s Cross is 1 hour and 44 minutes, while Nottingham and Skegness take around 1 hour and 1 hour and 15 minutes respectively. All trains for Ancaster are provided by East Midlands Trains.

Ancaster was a Roman town and was featured in an episode of Time Team when a cist was excavated in the town in 2002. The village now has just a few small shops, a Post Office, and the Railway Inn pub which is a short walk from the station. 

Ancaster train station is unstaffed and there are no ticket machines, so passengers need to purchase tickets from the guard on the train. The station does have shelters and bicycle racks and there is a small car park near the entrance.
