The Hatton Art Gallery is on Newcastle University campus in the heart of Newcastle city centre. You can easily get to the gallery by taking the train to Newcastle station, which is well-connected to the main British cities, including London and Edinburgh, thanks to the frequent services operated by LNER, CrossCountry and Northern Rail.

Once you reach Newcastle station, take the Tyne & Wear Metro and get off after two stops at Haymarket. Cross the road at the traffic lights at the top of Northumberland Street opposite the church and keep left. Cross the road at the next set of traffic lights on Barras Bridge and turn left at Campus Coffee. Walk up the steps past the student union building on the left towards the double arches. Turn right and you’ll find the Hatton Gallery on your left.

Founded in 1925, the Hatton Art Gallery is home to over 3,000 works from the 14th to the 20th centuries, including paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings by some of the most famous artists of their time. For more information about opening times and available exhibitions, visit the Hatton Art Gallery website.
