Naturally, the first port of call is the castle itself, high up on a rocky crag and surrounded by the stunning Cheshire countryside – you might even be able to see out to the Welsh mountains. While you’re up there, be sure to peer down the castle well, one of the deepest in England and said to be the hiding place of Richard II’s long lost treasure.
Next up, go for a wander around the beautiful woodland which sits under the watchful gaze of the castle above.
