Trainline Student Brand Ambassador Competition

 

  1. This is a free competition (the “Competition”) organised by Trainline.com Limited of 120 Holborn, London, EC1N
  2. 2TD ("Trainline"). 
  3. By entering this Competition, you acknowledge that Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok (whose site you need to post on in order to enter this Competition) may transfer your data to their servers and service providers outside of the European Economic Area, including in the United States. See Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok Privacy Policies, which are available on their websites, for more information.
  4. By entering this Competition, entrants confirm that they have read and fully understood these terms. If you do not agree with any of these terms, then you should not enter this Competition.
  5. This Competition is open exclusively to residents of the United States that are studying in the UK as part of a semester or year abroad (until at least this May), aged 16 or over who are ready to create an account to use Trainline. Employees of Trainline, their agencies, their family members or anyone professionally associated with this Competition are not eligible for entry.
  6. Only one entry per person is permitted and a separate entry is required for each person. Entries must not be sent in through agents or third parties and any such entries will be invalid.

STEP 1 of the Competition:

  1. Entrants can try to win one of the prizes of the Step 1 by filling a form accessible https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RC7DVQ6?cuid=[cuid_value] or https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6W8H8VQ?cuid=[cuid_value] before 12th February 2024 at 11.59pm GMT, detailing all the following information: first name, last name, zip code in the US, email address and student email address, name of the University in the UK, name of the University in the US and year of studies, period of presence in the UK, Social media handles, any university club or society they are members of and two essays in no more than 150 words, telling us 1/why they would be a great Brand Ambassador and 2/ which places they are planning on visiting if selected.  To finalize the selection of Step 1 winners, Trainline may conduct some additional Zoom interviews by the 8th March 2024. Winners must have provided all the information above and will be selected based on the quality of their submission.
  1. Trainline will select up to 20 winners for the Step 1 (number of winners will be at Trainline’s sole and exclusive discretion). Each of the winner will win a £500 voucher to be redeemed on Trainline, valid during the second step of the Competition. Voucher can be used on all type of trains / coaches available on the Trainline website and can also be used to purchase travel buddy tickets. All additional costs and expenses associated with the travel shall be at the expense of the participant. Winners will be notified by email no later than the 8th of March 2024.

STEP 2 of the Competition:

  1. Participants to this step will be invited to attend an orientation day at Trainline, 120 Holborn London EC1N 2TD, on 13th March 2024. Train transportation costs if coming from outside London will be covered by Trainline.
    On 13th of March 2024, each selected participant will receive by email a personalized QR code allowing those using it to download Trainline App. Each download generated will be tracked by Trainline and be taken into account to select the winner.
  2. From 14th March 2024 to 31st May 2024, Participants to this step will be able to:
    1. Share a personalised QR Code with their friends and family to allow them to download TL app. Any app download using the personalized QR code happening in the US will warrant 2 points and any app download using the personalized QR code happening anywhere else will warrant 1 point.
      Progress will be shared weekly with all participants by email so they will be able to see how they are tracking on the leader board. If a Participant is not comfortable with their first name being shared, they will be able to choose a nickname that will be used in the leaderboard.
      The participant who generated the most points through the use of the personalized QR code will win the prize detailed below.
    2. Create content to be shared on their social account of their choice to relate travel experience using Trainline (using App, traveling, ...) and destination content. Posts will have to show the #ad and tag the @trainline. Posts and assets will have to be sent to Trainline, via the following email address: StudentsAmbassadors@thetrainline.com. After the conclusion of the Competition period, content shared will be judged by a panel based on the following criteria: creativity of the posts to highlight the benefits of traveling by train in UK and Europe, the quality of the copy, photos and videos used, engagement generated by the posts and consistency of posting throughout the Competition. Winner will be rewarded with the prize detailed below.
  1. There will be two winners in Step 2, who will be selected following criteria described above, from all Participants. The decision of Trainline in connection with the Competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  1. Two winners will be selected within 1 week of the Competition’s closing date.
  1. Each winner will receive $1,000 voucher with a supplier of their choice among: Airbnb, Apple and Amazon. The prize is subject to the terms and condition of Airbnb, Apple and Amazon.
  1. The winners will be announced during a Prize giving ceremony that will be held at Trainline office in London (and/or on Zoom depending on the Participants availability). Train transportation if coming from outside London costs will be covered by Trainline. The date and the format will be confirmed to Participants by email. If the Winner can’t attend the ceremony in person or online, they will be contacted by email.
  1. The prizes are strictly non-transferable and non-refundable, and no cash alternative will be offered.
  1. In the unlikely event that the prizes are not available or become unavailable through no fault of Trainline, Trainline reserves the right to substitute prizes which it determines of being of equal value.
  1. The prizes will be sent to the winners by email. Trainline cannot take responsibility for emails not received by the winner[s] for any technical or other reason.
  1. No responsibility is taken for entries that are incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
  1. During the Competition, Participants will be able to ask any question by emailing: StudentsAmbassadors@thetrainline.com
  1. Participants must obtain all necessary consents from any relevant third parties to the use of those third parties’ images or intellectual property rights in connection with this Competition. If anyone other than the entrant is featured in any photo or video submitted to this Competition entrants must have gained consent from that individual(s) to enter the photo or video. Participants must not film/take pictures in stations or at least a particular station should not be recognizable. In the same way, the Content must not show any third-party logo or intellectual property rights. If filming in trains, Participants should make sure that no carrier logo or intellectual property is recognizable.
  1. Any entries as well as any posts/content which Trainline considers are offensive or defamatory, likely to bring Trainline or its partners into disrepute or generated automatically, as considered solely by Trainline, will have to be removed from the Participants social account and Participants will be disqualified.
  1. Trainline reserves the right to use the names of entrants and any other content created / provided by them for promotional purposes for a up to a year after the closing of the Competition. By entering this Competition, you agree to the use of any intellectual property rights that you own in the content to be used for Trainline’s promotional purposes. This Competition is not intended to create a relationship between the parties other than as specified herein. The parties expressly agree that they are not entering into a partnership, joint venture, employment, or any other legal relationship. Furthermore, it is clarified that no payment shall be made for any content created under this agreement, and any such content shall be considered a contribution to try and win the prizes, without any expectation of compensation.
  1. Trainline shall not be liable in any way whatsoever for any failure or breach by any party in connection with your entry into this Competition, or in connection with the prizes. Trainline shall have no liability for the acts or omissions of any third party with respect to this Competition. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Trainline accepts no responsibility for any loss which is not foreseeable or arises as a result of the use of the prizes. Nothing shall exclude the liability of Trainline for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
  1. Trainline’s general terms and conditions and privacy policy apply to this Competition and by entering this Competition, entrants acknowledge that they have read and fully understood these terms.
  1. Trainline reserves the right to hold void, suspend, change or cancel the promotion at any time.
