Birmingham to London

London Northwestern Railway trains on the Birmingham to London line are one of the busiest on the whole service. Off-peak train times begin at 07:53, giving those looking for a day out shopping in the capital a chance to catch an early train without the busy rush-hour crowds. Birmingham New Street acts as the major terminal for London Northwestern with West Midlands Railway and connects travellers further along with the service to Liverpool and Worcester. Cheap train tickets to London can be found when booked in advance, and especially when using Super Off-Peak train tickets to London Euston.

First Class tickets and services are available on this rail line, and upgrades can also be possible for those wanting a little extra comfort. First Class prices and service information can be found in our Journey Planner, and give you all the travel information you need. Check out our dedicated page to West Midlands Trains First Class for more information.

Discover where London Northwestern and West Midlands Railways can take you

Previously known as London Midland, the franchise is now split into two separate train services, both with a different purpose for its passengers. With Birmingham New Street serving as a hub and interchange for the passengers, the  2 routes provide both long-distance and short-distance routes, enabling commuters to travel across the Midlands at relative ease.

London Northwestern is a faster, long-distance provider. With a terminal in London Euston and Liverpool Lime Street, trains also call at Coventry, Northampton, and Stoke among others, meaning passengers can also change here for other services with different train companies. West Midlands train services provide a convenient train travel option for those looking to travel into and around Birmingham, with Litchfield Trent Valley, Nuneaton, and Tile Hill acting as interchanges between the 2 lines.
