Trains to Wetheral

Wetheral Railway Station serves the villages and parishes of Wetheral and Great Corby with regular passenger services operated by Northern on the Newcastle-Carlisle Tyne Valley Line. Ten trains from Wetheral operate in each direction on weekdays, with slightly reduced services on Sundays. Trains serving Wetheral also typically call at stations west of Hexham on the Line; passengers for stations between Hexham and Newcastle should change at Hexham.  

Today Wetheral Station is unstaffed, but remnants of its past still stand, as the old stationmaster’s house is currently in use as a residence. There are no ticketing provisions of any sort available at the station, so passengers should plan to purchase tickets in advance or on the train from a guard. Train running information is provided via timetable poster boards or by telephone. Both platforms have basic shelters with seating. There is step-free access to the eastbound platform only; the westbound platform is accessed via footbridge with stairs.
