Trains to Shenstone

Shenstone railway station serves the little community of Shenstone and the surrounding Staffordshire villages between Birmingham and Lichfield. It was opened in the late-19^th century by the then London and North Western Railway after an extension to the line. The two platforms are managed, along with the trains that pass though on the Cross-City Line, by West Midlands Trains. There is a ticket office open between Mondays and Saturdays and a machine for purchasing tickets outside these times. Unlike many British stations, the original red-brick station building with its ornate overhanging roof still exists today. Other facilities include a footbridge linking the two platforms and bench seating. There are at least two northbound trains direct to Litchfield City every hour in 6 minutes and south to Birmingham New Street in 32 minutes.

There are several things to do in Shenstone including the Shenstone Playing Fields, the historic War Memorial and the beautiful honey-coloured Shenstone St John's church, not to mention several cosy country pubs where you can mingle with the locals.
