Poynton train station lies on the Stoke to Manchester line 11 miles south of Manchester between Adlington and Bramhall and serves the town of Poynton, Cheshire. Poynton train station was built in 1887 and is now a listed heritage building. The station won the award for Cheshire’s Best Kept Station in 2007 and 2015, the award for Best Kept Gardens in 2013. and the WW1 Commemoration Award in 2014
The station consists of two platforms on either side of the tracks. Both platforms have level access and they are connected by a footbridge, or via the Chester Road overbridge. There is a staffed ticket office on platform 1. Bus connections can be made from the nearby Chester Road.
