Located in the Newton area of Hyde, Greater Manchester, Newton for Hyde Railway Station sees regular Northern trains operating on the Glossop Line. Trains from Newton for Hyde run on a half-hourly frequency, Monday through Sunday daytimes; westbound trains run to Manchester Piccadilly and eastbound trains run to Hadfield. Additional services run in peak times. Early morning, late evening, and peak period services originate or terminate at Glossop.  

The booking hall at Newton for Hyde Station is staffed six days a week on a part-time basis (closing up in the early afternoon). For passenger comfort, waiting shelters with seating are installed on both platforms, and train running information is provided on digital departure screens and timetable poster boards. As the westbound platform and ticket hall are accessed via staircases, there is level access to the eastbound platform for Hadfield only. Passengers requiring step-free access who wish to travel westbound on the Glossop Line should travel from another station.

The station is reached by a short approach road off Sheffield Road. Services towards Manchester : Along a ramp (33 paces, 1:8 slope) into the booking hall and then up 28 steps onto the platform. Services Towards Hadfield : Along a ramp (53 paces, 1:8 slope) into the booking hall then to the right, along the underpass (23 paces) and up 27 steps onto the platform. There is additional access to the Hadfield platform down a ramp (40 yards) from Danby Road or a footpath from Victoria Street (200 yards) then up one large step and through a gate on to the platform. This gate can also be reached from the approach road, under the railway arch and up 28 steps.
