Trains to Morfa Mawddach

Once called Barmouth Junction, Morfa Mawddach Railway Station serves Gwynedd with regular Arriva Trains Wales services on the Cambrian Coast Line between Machynlleth and Pwllheli. Trains from Morfa Mawddach operate directly to Harlech, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Barmouth, Machynlleth, Shrewsbury, and Birmingham. Trains run approximately two-hourly in both directions, with greatly reduced services on Sundays. All trains run at least to Pwllheli and Machynlleth; some Machynlleth-bound services run beyond to Shrewsbury and Birmingham, where onward connections can be made. Trains stop on request here.  

An unstaffed halt with only one platform remaining out of its original four, Morfa Mawddach Station has a station car park available for passenger use and is located near a bus stop. As there are no ticketing provisions at the station, tickets must be purchased ahead of time or on board from a guard. A waiting shelter with bench seating is installed on the platform. Train running information is provided via departure and arrival screens and automated announcements. Access to the platform is via ramp; however, as the access path is steep, it is not suitable for wheelchair users.
