Tywyn Railway Station serves the town of Tywyn, Gwynedd, with regular Arriva Trains Wales services operating on the Cambrian Coast Line. Trains from Tywyn serve many destinations on the Cambrian Line, including Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Aberdovey, Machynlleth, and Shrewsbury. These trains operate roughly every two hours, mostly carrying through to Birmingham International via Shrewsbury.

Unusually for stations on the Cambrian Coast Line, Tywyn Station retains two platforms and its original passing loop. The historic station buildings are in private use, however, and the station itself remains unstaffed with relatively limited facilities. A station car park and cycle storage are provided, but as there are no ticketing provisions available at the station, passengers should take care to purchase tickets in advance or from a guard on the train. Train running information is provided on departure and arrival screens and via automated announcements on the platforms. Waiting shelters with seating are installed on both platforms. There is step-free access to both platforms via very steep ramps; the ramp to platform 1 (for Machynlleth) is unsuitable for customers in wheelchairs.
