Llangammarch railway station is a small station on the Heart of Wales Line which operates between Shrewsbury and Swansea in Mid-Wales. The station opened in 1867, although the original building has since been demolished. Four trains run each day to Shrewsbury, the fastest taking two hours. Seven trains go to Swansea, the fastest taking one hour and 59 minutes.
Llangammarch station is a few minutes from the pretty Llangammarch Wells. Originally a spa town, it was famous for its spring water which contained high amounts of the mineral Barium. Today Llangammarch has a campsite and there are several country house and spa hotels nearby. This is a wonderful place for walkers, with the Cambrian Mountains on the doorstep, and there are many trails and footpaths in the area to be explored.
