Llanwrtyd railway station is a small two-platform station in the town of Llanwrtyd Wells in mid-Wales. The station opened in 1867 and is a stop on the 150-year-old Heart of Wales Line connecting Swansea and Shrewsbury. Around six trains from Llanwrtyd run to Swansea each day, (with onward connections to London and the rest of the UK). Four trains run daily to Shrewsbury (with links to Birmingham, Manchester and the rest of the UK).
Llanwrtyd village was designated a spa town in the 19th century after the discovery of a sulphuric spring. Today, it is a base for walkers and cyclists wanting to explore the Irfon Valley and the Cambrian Mountains.
