Trains to Hartwood

Hartwood Railway Station serves the village of Hartwood in North Lanarkshire with regular Abellio ScotRail trains operating on the Shotts line between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Trains from Hartwood currently operate hourly, with one stopping service from Glasgow Central to Edinburgh Waverly and vice versa. One train from Edinburgh terminates at Motherwell. Sunday services see trains from Hartwood run six times daily in each direction, with slight increases in service before Christmas.  

Hartwood Railway Station facilities include cycle storage and station car park. As there are no ticketing provisions present at the station, passengers should purchase tickets in advance or on the train. Train running information is provided via digital screens displaying departures and arrivals; additionally, there are automated announcements on the station’s PA system. Waiting rooms with bench seating are present on both platforms. There is level access to platform 1 (Glasgow-bound), but platform 2 (Edinburgh-bound) is accessed via footbridge and stairs.
