East Kilbride Train Station
East Kilbride train station was opened in 1868, sparking a new era of growth for the town. East Kilbride railway station serves commuters to Glasgow Central, only 11 miles to the north.
The modern town centre's key attractions include the large EK shopping and entertainment complex, and the listed Dollan Baths leisure centre. Further out, there are pleasant walks in Calderglen Country Park to the south and a great watersports lake at James Hamilton Heritage Park to the north.
The station itself is a little distance from the centre in East Kilbride Village, which was the heart of the old farming hamlet and still offers a range of restaurants, cafes and pubs.
