Trains to Capenhurst

Capenhurst train station is in the village of Capenhurst, Cheshire. It is part of the Merseyrail network, situated on the Wirral Line which carries trains between Chester and Liverpool. The fastest train from Capenhurst to Chester takes 9 minutes and Liverpool Central has a fastest journey time of 35 minutes. Trains depart from Capenhurst train station every half hour in each direction. The station is unstaffed so tickets need to be purchased in advance or from the ticket machine at the station. There is step free access to each platform individually, though the bridge linking them over the line has steps.  

Capenhurst itself is perhaps best known as the site of a uranium enrichment plant and the Capenhurst Technology Park, which is located a short distance from the railway line. It is also home to the controversial Capenhurst tower. Claims that the tower was used to intercept calls from Ireland were published in 1999; the tower was destroyed in 2004.
