Breich train station is one of the least used in the UK (currently the sixth). It is located in West Lothian and serves the rural village of Breich. Only one train a day runs in each direction from Breich linking the station with Glasgow Central, with a fastest journey time of 49 minutes, and Edinburgh Waverly, a journey of 43 minutes.
The station at Breich was built in 1869; it predates the small village, named after Breich Water, which stands today. The local area was home to several industrial works and local collieries but historical maps show that Breich station did not offer freight facilities. It did once have a ticket office and waiting room but neither exists today.
The platforms at Breich train station can be reached from the nearby A706 along a dirt track and a footbridge. There is a small shelter on platform 2 and benches for passengers on both sides. Both platforms have a loose gravel surface and there are no ticket facilities; passengers need to book their journey in advance of pay the conductor on the train.
