Trains to Barnetby

Highly popular with railway enthusiasts, Barnetby Railway Station serves passengers and train-watchers alike in the village of Barnetby-le-Wold in North Lincolnshire. The station is operated primarily by TransPennine Express, although the station also serves as a halt for East Midland Trains and Northern. Today unstaffed, the station stands as a remnant of the industrial boom—to this day, the line through Barnetby to Scunthorpe remains vital for the industry. Independent of its function as a freight thoroughfare, Barnetby station also served as the railhead for the bomber base RAF Elsham Wolds during World War II.

TransPennine Express trains from Barnetby depart hourly between Cleethorpes and Manchester Airport via Sheffield. Additionally, East Midlands Trains runs services from Grimsby to Lincoln and Newark approximately every two hours, and Northern operates services to Sheffield via Brigg and Retford thrice daily on Saturdays. On Sundays, hourly trains depart Barnetby to Cleethorpes and Manchester, with morning services occurring every two hours; in summer, there is limited service to Lincoln. The station is fully modernised, with self-service ticket machines, waiting shelters, digital information screens, and step-free access available for passenger use.
