Trains to Brigg
Brigg train station is unusual in that it is only served by trains one day a week. Three Saturday services make the 1 hour and 30 minute journey to Sheffield. Three more run in the other direction linking the town of Brigg with Cleethorpes, a journey of 40 minutes.
The station consists of two platforms which are linked by a bridge. Both platforms have small shelters for waiting passengers. Older station buildings and a covered area over the line have been removed since the 1960s. The station is unstaffed and there are no ticketing facilities; passengers travelling from here need to pay for their journey in advance or on the train.
The town of Brigg is also served by the A18 and M180 roads and several local bus services. Weekday passenger services to Brigg train station stopped in 1993, though a local campaign to increase services is working to change this. The line through Brigg is still used for freight transport.
