Trains to Appledore (Kent)

Appledore Railway Station sits almost two miles east of Appledore village, a cross-section of lines leading across Kent. Although the southernmost portion of the Ashford-Rye-Hastings (Marshlink) line was electrified in 1935, engineering works were never completed through to Ashford; as a result, Appledore sits on a non-electrified section of the line and is served by Southern's diesel trains. Most of the Marshlink line is single-track, although remnants of the second track are still visible to passengers in places.

Southern operates trains to Appledore station once every sixty minutes during the day, continuing north to Ashford via Ham Street and south to Hastings via Rye. Shelters and waiting rooms are available, as is step-free access; due to a narrow doorway, the shelter on platform 1 is not suitable for wheelchairs. Waiting rooms are open during staffed hours, and restrooms are available off platform 1. The station is located next to Station Antiques, the Railway Hotel, and has an extensive carpark available.
