In just a little over two hours with one change along the way, Trenitalia trains can take you from the heart of Bologna to central Lucca. You’ll travel on Trenitalia’s modern and comfortable Intercity trains, with air-conditioned carriages, power sockets and lots of space for your luggage.
Catching the train is much more relaxing than taking to the roads, and it’s also the more eco-friendly travel option. You’ll be transported to Lucca train station, which is just five minutes from the city’s historic centre.
Lucca is a compact city that can easily be explored on foot, so free yourself up by leaving your car behind. Lucca station is just a few minutes’ walk from lively Piazza Napoleone and plenty of delectable Italian restaurants.
