Starting from 3 February 2018, tickets for Thello night trains are nominal; this means that at the time of booking you will need to provide your name, surname and date of birth to improve the quality of identity checks at the customs.

The premium cabins

The Thello Venezia - Paris and Milan - Marseille trains provide two types of low cost offers with limited availability:
"Smart tickets" are the cheapest and do not include ticket changes or cancellations. Tickets can be booked at this rate from 4 months to 7 days before the train departs and the fare is available for all comfort classes except the premium cabin.
"Go tickets" are tickets at a discounted price but higher than smart tickets because they allow cancellation up to 24 hours before departure and a 50% refund (while no refund is due for cancellation less than 24 hours before departure). The Go fare ticket can be purchased from 4 months to 3 days before the train departs. The rate applies to all comfort classes including the premium cabin.
An additional way to save money while traveling on Thello trains, especially if you travel the same route often, is to take advantage of the Carnet 5 for 4 offer, which allows you to buy 5 tickets for the price of 4.
