Railworld is a volunteer-run centre featuring model trains & railways in a building surrounded by greenery. It's right by the Nene Valley Railway, and not only do they have some remarkable train exhibits including a "tracked hovercraft" but the volunteers have transformed a derelict inner-city coal yard into a haven for wildlife - with over 300 recorded species of Flora and Fauna. They also have an Earth Centre and 2,000 Sqft of Model Railways for you to enjoy.
It's easy to reach Railworld in Peterborough, by train. Simply hop on a train to Peterborough station - then it's a 15-20 minute walk from the mainline railway station, but right next to the Nene Valley Railway heritage line station.
