Bishopthorpe Palace is one of York's lesser-known attractions, to the south of the city. The palace, a working building, is rarely open to the public but its grounds are. Bishopthorpe Palace operates as multi-functional premises, hosting working offices, meeting rooms, worship areas, and living quarters. The palace and its grounds are also used for charity open days, retreats, evening receptions, village fetes, and more.
It's easy to reach Bishopthorpe Palace in York, by train. Simply hop on a train to York station - then it's a fair walk down the river or a 17-minute ride on the 11 bus from outside the station.
