The second most northerly station in the United Kingdom and terminus of its northernmost line, Wick Railway Station brings Scotland’s Far North Line to its conclusion on the coast near John o’Groats. ScotRail trains from Wick run four times daily south to Inverness, with two morning departures are 06:18 and 08:02 and two afternoon departures at 12:34 and 16:00. On Sundays, one train departs Wick for Inverness at 11:58. Ferry connections to Orkney and Shetland are available from Scrabster Ferry Terminal, about twenty miles from Wick and one mile from Thurso.
Despite the station’s isolated locale, Wick Station is fully outfitted with amenities for its travellers. A station car park and cycle storage units are provided nearby, and the ticket office is staffed from mid-morning until late afternoon daily. Pre-purchased tickets may be collected from the ticket office. Toilet facilities, waiting rooms, payphones, and seating are present on the platform. There is level access to the platform from the concourse.
