Trains to Whittlesea

Whittlesea Railway Station serves the town of Whittlesey with regular Greater Anglia trains operating on the Ely-Peterborough Line. Trains from Whittlesea run once every two hours to Ipswich and Peterborough each; additionally, select CrossCountry services call thrice daily between Birmingham and Cambridge. Two of these three extend to Stansted Airport. During the week, East Midlands Trains operate an additional service to Liverpool Lime Street. 

The archaic spelling ‘Whittlesea’ is all that remains of the station’s past; the original railway buildings are long demolished, leaving only the platforms still used today. A carpark and cycle storage facilities are provided for customer use. There are no ticketing provisions of any sort present at the station, so passengers should take care to purchase tickets ahead of travel or on the train. Train running information is provided via departure and arrival screens. A newsagent provides basic facilities on the platform. There is step-free access via ramp to the platforms.
