Westenhanger Railway Station serves the villages of Westenhanger and Stanford in Kent with regular Southeastern trains operating on the South Eastern Main Line. In typical off-peak hours, trains from Westenhanger run once an hour in both directions, to London Charing Cross via Tonbridge from platform 1 and Dover Priory from platform 2. Due to the station’s location, it also serves nearby Folkestone Racecourse following the closure of the racecourse station in the 1960s.
Westenhanger Station is unmanned; ticketing provisions at the station are limited to a permit-to-travel machine located on the London-bound platform. The station building, once derelict, has been restored and is now in private use. Waiting shelters with bench seating and dedicated help points are installed on both of the staggered platforms. There is step-free access to platform 1 for London only; platform 2 is accessed only via stairs down. Passengers for southbound accessible services should travel from Ashford International or Folkestone Central instead.
Westenhander is the nearest train station to Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, home to over 900 rare and endangered animals.
