Wellingborough station lies on the eastern edge of the quaint market town of Wellingborough and offers easy access to the big city.

Trains to London St Pancras International reach the capital in less than an hour, carrying commuters from the immediate neighbourhood as well as from the nearby villages of Higham Ferrers, Irchester, Rushden and Wollaston.

The station was built by the Midland Railway in 1857, and much of the original building remains, although the canopies have since been removed. The charming redbrick exterior featured in 2005 British film Kinky Boots, which celebrated Northamptonshire's famous shoe-making industry.

Situated on the north side of the River Nene, Wellingborough is a picturesque town with retail at its heart. All major high street chains can be found in the town centre, and the Swansgate shopping centre is a local landmark. Behind it, just over Swanspool Brook, you'll find local cultural attractions, such as Wellingborough Museum and The Castle Theatre.
