Welling station, in the borough of Bexley in south-east London, is on the Bexleyheath line with westbound services into London Charing Cross, Cannon Street and Victoria, and eastbound services to Barnehurst and Dartford. There are usually six trains per hour in either direction. It's about 35 minutes to London Victoria and 15 minutes to Dartford.
Before the station was built in 1895, Welling was a small village on the main road between London and Kent. Today it is a busy commuter suburb and the station is one of a few on the line still with its original buildings. Heading from the station to the main road, Central Avenue, you'll find stops for buses to Woolwich and Orpington. Round the corner is Bellgrove Road, where there are stops for other routes and all of the local businesses you'd expect: cafes, hairdressers, takeaways, supermarkets, a library and a post office.
