A vital point of interchange between Underground and Overground services, Walthamstow Central Railway Station serves Walthamstow in east London with frequent services on the Victoria Line and Lea Valley Lines. On the Overground, trains from Walthamstow Central run every fifteen minutes to London Liverpool Street and Chingford; Victoria Line trains run every 100 seconds for approximately 36 trains every hour. Night Tube service sees trains on the Victoria Line run every 10 minutes. A multitude of London Buses routes serves Walthamstow Central both day and night, making it superbly connected for onward travel. The station is located in Zone 3.
Architecturally, Walthamstow Central is a study in contrasts—the Overground station a fine example of mid-Victorian stations, the Underground station left unfinished to this day. A station car park and cycle stands are provided for customer use, and the ticket office is staffed from the start of service until late evening daily (including Sundays). Self-service ticket machines also provide a full range of fares, including Oyster top-up. Train running information is provided on departure and arrival screens and via automated announcements. Public wifi is available throughout the station, and there is a refreshment facility on platform 1. There is step-free access throughout the station.
