Trains to Walkden

Walkden Railway Station serves the towns of Walkden, Salford, Swinton, and Hindley with regular Northern trains operating on the Manchester to Southport Line. Trains from Walkden run twice an hour in both directions, serving Manchester Victoria southbound and northbound to Wigan Wallgate with alternate trains running to either Southport or Kirkby. Alternate southbound departures continue to Todmorden, Burnley Manchester Road, and Blackburn. Select peak trains continue to Huddersfield and Leeds. Evening services are hourly to both Manchester Victoria and Wigan. 

Walkden Station has a staffed ticket office that is manned part-time until early afternoon. At all other times, tickets should be purchased from the self-service machines provided at the station. Train running information is provided via digital display screens, timetable poster boards, and automated announcements. As the station is elevated above street level and accessed only via two flights of steps, there is no step-free access anywhere in the station.
