Trains to Upton (Merseyside)

Upton Railway Station serves the village of Upton and the Noctorum area of Birkenhead with regular Arriva Trains Wales services on the Borderlands Line. Trains from Upton run regularly every hour in both directions between Bidston and Wrexham Central; in the evenings and on Bank Holidays, these trains operate every two hours. On Sundays, six trains operate each direction.  

Facilities at Upton Station are rather basic, as the station is unstaffed and operates at a somewhat reduced capacity relative to its intended construction. There are no ticketing provisions available at the station. Platform CCTV provides security of both platforms and cycle storage units, and there are waiting shelters with seating available on the platforms. Train running information is provided via digital departure and arrival screens on each platform. There is step-free access via ramp to both platforms; however, as access from the road is non-compliant, Upton cannot be recommended for unassisted wheelchair users.
