Stamford Hill is used by the North London district of the same name which covers both the boroughs of Haringey and Hackney. The station and the trains that pass through on the Lea Valley Lines are managed by London Overground. In recent years, the station has grown in importance with a steady increase in passenger numbers which now stands around half a million each year. Most are commuters use their Oyster cards as the station falls within Travelcard Zone 3, though there is a ticket office and self-service machines. The original brick entrance that houses the ticket office still exists and has stairways leading down to the two platforms which lie below street level. There are up to four trains an hour direct to Liverpool Street in 17 minutes and two an hour direct to Enfield Town in 18 minutes.
There’s plenty to keep you busy when you arrive at Stamford Hill. If you like walking try the nearby Woodberry Wetlands, a nature preserve wrapped around several reservoirs or Clapton Common. Alternatively, dive into one of the trendy eateries that line up the high street.
