St Michaels railway station lies in the southern neighbourhood of St Michael’s Hamlet in Liverpool. It was constructed in the mid-19th century by the then Garston and Liverpool Railway and lasted more than a century before shutting down for 5 years in the mid 1970s. Today, the station and the trains that pass through are managed by Merseyrail and serves more than a million passengers annually. The original red-brick ticket office is still intact making it one of the most scenic stations in the north of the country. Other facilities on the two platforms include digital passenger information displays, bench seating and waiting shelters. There are four direct departures to Liverpool Central in 7 minutes and southbound to Hunts Cross in 12 minutes.
When you arrive in St Michaels, you’ll be squeezed next to several large green spaces like the spectacular Festival Gardens which are nestled along the banks of the River Mersey and Sefton Park Liverpool which includes a stately Victorian property.
