St Margarets station is in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, and serves the region of east Twickenham within Travelcard Zone 4. The station is usually referred to as St Margarets (London) in order to differentiate it from the St Margarets station in Hertfordshire. The station is in a popular commuter area, and is regularly served by trains in and out of London Waterloo, with departures leaving via Kingston, Hounslow and Brentford - direct services to Waterloo take approximately 40 minutes. The area is largely residential, but there's a good range of pubs, bars, shops and cafes - both chain and independent - immediately around the station, on St Margarets Road and Crown Road. The station is only a five-minute walk from the lovely Marble Hill Park, which offers beautiful woodland and fine views of the River Thames. You can also cross the Thames there using the Hammertons Ferry, which brings you to the grounds of Ham House.
