A five-minute walk from the striking, well-kept Warrior Square Gardens that look out over Hastings Beach, St Leonards Warrior Square station is one of four that serve the East Sussex seaside town. The station, which is on the Hastings Line and the East Coastway Line, still has both its original station house and station building, remaining largely unchanged since it opened in the mid-1800s.
While the whole town has great little spots to pop into, the main shopping and commercial area is a few minutes' walk south of the station, stretching from Kings Road all the way down to the seafront. It is home to an eclectic array of cafes and restaurants with seafood naturally taking prominence.
The station has two international links, with regular services to Gatwick Airport (an hour away) and Ashford International (one and a half hours) both leaving platform 1. Trains depart the station from platform 2 to Hastings and Brighton, as well as further afield to London Victoria and London Charing Cross.
