Spring Road railway station lies in the South East neighbourhood of Birmingham along the North Warwickshire Line. It was constructed in the early-20th century, originally as Spring Road Platform, to take the overspill of passengers from Tyseley. In the early years, it was often used by schools to take their pupils on trips to the countryside. In the ‘50s, a ticket office was added that is still in use. Today, the station and the trains that pass through are managed by West Midlands Railway. There are two platforms, both of which have facilities like digital passenger information displays, modern shelters and overhead station lighting. During peak hours there are at least three direct services an hour to Birmingham Moor Street in 7 minutes and two an hour to Whitlocks End in 11 minutes.
When you disembark at Spring Road railway station, you’ll be just a short walk from the large Fox Hollies Park where you can walk along the banks of the Westley Brook. Alternatively, you don’t have to skip your exercise regime if you visit the Fox Hollies Leisure Centre.
