Trains to Shifnal

Shifnal railway station serves the little village of Shifnal just a few miles east of Telford along the London Paddington to Birkenhead line. It was opened in the mid-19^th century by Great Western Railway during a boom in rail construction across the country. Unfortunately, there are none of the original brick buildings left after they were demolished some time ago. Today, it’s managed along with the trains that pass through by West Midlands Trains, though there are several services by Arriva Trains Wales. It’s an unstaffed station, but there are self-service machines where you can purchase your tickets before boarding the train. There’s an hourly direct service to Birmingham New Street in 42 minutes and Telford Central in 5 minutes.

Shifnal might be small, but it’s packed with some excellent places to eat like the Odfellows Wine Bar, Latimer's of Shifnal and Minhs Restaurant, not to mention several cosy pubs.
