Selhurst train station is the nearest rail hub for Crystal Palace Football Club, just a ten-minute walk away through the leafy south-London suburb in the Borough of Croydon. Match days are particularly heavy with services increased to deal with the extra numbers, but, being just 30 minutes from London Victoria, the station is used to busy with trains leaving every ten minutes to the capital. For those travelling away from the city, regular services head for Caterham, East, West and South Croydon, Sutton, Epsom and Milton Keynes.
Now a commuter town in London Travelcard Zone 4, Selhurst has a rich history of notable residents, the area around the station once owned by Henry VII and subsequently home to both Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Arthur Conan Doyle. These days, young hopefuls make their way to the star-training BRIT School, which has seen names like Adele, Amy Winehouse and Jessie J graduate from its halls.
